Setting eggs, anyone want to join me? Hatch-Along

i don't think i am going to candle any of my eggs i think im just gonna let them hatch but i really do hope all three hatch .. i might candle them just once i get excited when i have a broody the first time it felt like months were going by when she was sitting on eggs i just couldn't wait

UPDATE: my eggs that are due the 21st or sooner silly me forgot to date them when I numbered them. Anyways there is a heartbeat in 3 out of 4, the one that I can't tell is too porous to tell. It looks likr it has a blood ring but it doesn't go all the way around. Air sack is still normalish. Wooo I'm eggsited! And its all do to the wonderful new Matrix LED flashlight that I was able to make out some beaks and a heart beat! Woo!

I think candling is my favorite part of incubating, its amazing! I usually candle twice. Lucky you

I set my eggs on the 7th and I checking them tonight to see who is growing, excited to see how many will stay in the bator, Got Barred rock on the way so I have to make sure theres room,

Just candled my eggs. Both are developing well!

Woooo! I candle mine atleast once or twice a week. And I couldn't resist taking a peek at my babies again. It swells my heart everytime I watch them move around in their shell. It makes me feel like I'm looking at my own sonograms again. The miracle of life. <3

I candle mine every couple days and have 100% viability so far (Day 13 for me). It's actually recommended that eggs have an hour long cooling period each day to make stronger chicks in the end. This is when I candle :)

Oh my now I'm heart broken, there was an egg that developed a blood ring but when I cracked the egg it had a heartbeat still the chick was way behind its fellow bator mates at day 7 when everyone is at day 12 going on day 13. What could have caused the blood ring but the embryo still alive and its lagging? They were all placed on the same day? (Refering to clutch. 1 in the bator. Seeing as I have 2 other clutches in with them)

Love reading all these post. My hen started laying just before the new year. I took the first 4 eggs and set them on the 1st and I know 2 are developing They are royal palm turkey eggs and very excited. This is my first hatch. I have some questions though. How long should I leave them in the incubator when they hatch (I'm hoping that at least the 2 will hatch) and what's the best way to deal with them after that. I have read a lot but want to here what has worked for you all here.

Could it have just been the pattern of the veins? It could be that it just hadn't died yet too. How many days behind did it look? If it was way behind it probably wouldn't have made it anyway...could have been anything.

They were all set on December 31st, and this chick was looking to be at day 7 in developing no bigger than an inch had its limb nubs tail nub beak nub and large eyeball. The yolk sack was busted even before I cracked it. But the chick was still alive. And everyone else that was set the same day is growing rapidly. Movement and everything is noticble now. Ugh. :(
