Setting Eggs on April 24th!!!! Who wants to hatch along w/me???

I put my eggs in the morning of April 24th, so I count that day as day 1. If I had put the eggs in the bator in the evening, I would count the next day as day 1. Hope that helps!

How is everyone doing????? I am going to try and candle again on this Sunday!

Hey there fellow hatchers

So far so good here, took a peak with the flashlight a few days ago and just peeked at a few and...WOW saw em!!

Eyes, veins, and movement!! Going to look at all of em tomorrow on day 10. Hate to say but if there were a few infertile ones I'd be OK with that. Might be swarmed in Silkies!


I was so worried about my first hatch being a failure, I bought 2 Silkie chicks at my local feed store, and I thought I had a girl and a boy, well today Priscilla has a comb growing...Hope Elvis is a girl

This is sooooooo exciting, I really hope we all have good healthy hatches.

Hopefully she is sitting on eggs somewhere, because suddenly all my hens are laying big clutches of eggs...but I don't expect much, they got the hots for Mr. Roo

Sorry guys, I am just too excited for words here, very excited about raising Silkies, and being able to expand my flock without buying chicks.

I tried to candle my silkie eggs this morning cause it is day 4 but don't see anything

- I will now wait for day 10 - I didn't see but one BR at day 4 after day 10 I had 4, sooooo

I took my peek at day 6 and was amazed, saw eyes and good movement. This is so cool, really hope they hatch!

Everyone is so welcome for the calender! I found it on another message board last week, can't remember the name, LOL - I just found it in my google on a chicken picture.

ok, tried to candle my eggs (welsummer) and just can't see crap!!!

they are to dark to really see anything..........so I will just keep my fingers crossed

that some hatch!!!!!!!!

OK, just candled all my eggs...

3 infertile, 5 with blood rings, and

15 WIGGLY BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!

I even showed my 3yr old one of the viable ones, he got such a kick out of it, said they looked like worms!
