Setting eggs on FEB 10

I had to can 2 of the eggs I wasn't sure about. They had blood rings. Times! That's one less Millie fluer and one less silver Phoenix. The 22 definitely good ones seem on track though I'm worried about the seramas with yesterday's 104 temp spike. Hopefully since it wasn't long I wont see too much damage.

WOW that website is so helpful!! I definitely see some veins! I'm just using a small LED flashlight and my hand. I did not candle all of them, only a few, I'm going to do everyone on Day 14 to see the progress and toss any that are still very clear with no veins or with blood rings. Already noticing that a lot of the eggs are more porous than I should have set. Ah well.

bugglesmommy, what 104˚F temp spike?? Incubator or weather wise?

Yesterday we went out for v-day dinner. When we came home after 2 hours the incubator had jumped up to 104. I'm hoping that within those 2 hours the eggs didn't internally reach 104.

Aug, I'm sorry

Though I bet you're right that the eggs didn't get that hot internally.

I set my eggs on the 9th of February, due March 2. This is my first hatch and I'm nervous!

This is my first hatch and I'm nervous too! I'm trying to be very hands off about the whole thing in case my nervousness causes me to do ridiculous things

I just set my 7 eggs in my brinsea mini advance on Feb 13th. This is also my first time doing this ever.
I had 3 olive egger and 4 french blue copper marans eggs shipped from a breeder in Illinois. The box that they arrived in was pretty beat up so hopefully I'll at least get a few chicks out of this.
I'll candle them on the 20th to see which ones are developing.
