Setting eggs on July 9th, anyone want to join me?

Had a nightmare. In my dream the light bulb of my incubator kept breaking without a cause (broke 3 times) and the eggs were cooling down. I was desperate trying to find another bulb and found one smaller that didn't fit the socket but with tape. I still was trying to attach it to the socket. The I heard that my chickens were attacked And as I ran towards them I found legs, wings and different body parts. I was sure I was facing a dog as the predator but when I arrived it was a evil looking FAIRY....A FAIRY.. the I woke up....seriuslly....A FAIRY. I woke ip and ran to check the bator and was ok. uuufffffffff. going back to bed.

I candled last night too. I removed 7 out of the 69, however there are 2 more that appear to be quitters. I mark the questionable ones, but left them in the incubator. Twice over the last couple year, I have had eggs hatch that I thought were bad. We are half way there. Really hope to get some blue Orphington hens. Eggcited!

seems like the only eggs I have left are blue and lav orp eggs.. So I am hoping to get at least 1 of each and preferable hens..

but because i wish for hens...they wont be... I have that kind of hora around me..

I had been candeling but with the blue eggs and the marans I cant see whats in there.With the blue eggs I see a mass...not perfectly dark...more like orange-light brown. The mass is growing slowly. But don't know if the growing is infection or they are quitters or are ok. With the marans I see nothing. With my own eggs I see almost everything and seems like are developing way faster than the others...Is that normal.??? Non shipped eggs develope faster?

I just got 7 ringneck pheasant eggs in the mail today, so I'll be incubating those .

On day 5 of my hatching, my incubator was unattended becuse I went out of town for the day, and the humidity dropped from 56% to 26%, I came on the morning of Day 6 and stabilized it again, could that damage the eggs?

Tomorrow is day 11 of my hatching, if I want to candle the eggs, what should I be looking for? This is my first time and I am not sure what to expect, I don't even know if I should candle

I'm at day 12 with some of my eggs and at day 15 for others. The ones at day 12 are ameraucana blue eggs and I cant see the development. In just 3 I can see a darkest area with some veining. In all the others I see a orange/light brown shadow smaller that those 3. It's maybe half the size that those others. I took one out because it started to smell....all others smell ok. Are they growing...how to know at this stage they are alive and growing. I'm even thinking to open one just to see. Maybe I should keep waiting...What I should be looking for at this stage?

Thanks a lot. I saw there last night and got scared almost all my eggs are not developing. You can see so clearly inside those eggs and mine are like the biggest mistery. need a better candler. I had been reading all I find in a forum and out but Im in stress...Maybe I'm facing my worst hatching experience to day. But I always think that with every hatching so who knows. The worst part is not knowing.
