Setting Eggs on the 27th...

I'm getting SOOO anxious! Yesterday I could swear that I heard movement in the incubator, but each time I looked in, nothing had moved. I've gone crazy. Haha!

I had a temperature drop last night. I woke up and it was 96 degrees!

Ugh. I just want see movement or a pip or something!!!

same here dreamer5577. I'm anxious too. I'm just a little nervous that nothing will hatch like the last time. I keep checking the incubator to see if anything happened as well but I know it's only day 19 which is a bit too early, right?

Crosses fingers that all of us have successful hatches.. (Be sure to share pictures of the first pips... I wonder who will have something first).

Day 19 is too early, but it could happen at any time. If at all. I need to stay off the forums til I have progress here because all these threads are just worrying me!

I'll definitely keep you all updated!

My humidity is always a problem I'm using 2 farm Innovators pro 4200 models with turners to incubate in. I hatch in a bower still air you know the one that looks like a metal wash pan . here in middle tn. the humidity is so high I can't fill the water slots in the farm innovators. when say they need operate in a room between 65 & 72 degrees that's not enough. if your heating the room you need to run a dehumidifier if your cooling the room the AC does it for you. Since my house is 150 yrs.old I don't have central heat and air so I made cabinet to put them in. I add water with a 20cc syringe piped into the slots with fish tank air line I add 1or 2 ccs at a time . I refitted the bower with I/4 in. foam ins. a pc fan and digital controller & three water trays it works the best. it stays around 65%. The other 2 are a constant battle to control heat & humidity although with the cabinet its better this year. still my hatch is about 50%. you all will need forgive me as I can't spell cat with dictionary and type slow as a snail .

I just got up after sleeping most of the day. Two more eggs have started to pip.Yesterday when I candled the eggs before going into lockdown I put an X on the lowest part of the air cell like it shows in Hatching 101. So far all three pips have been lined right up with the X. Will see what I find in the morning when I get home from work.

Congrats!!!
I haven't had any pips yet. I'm not sure what side they will break through. I forgot to mark mine...
Any tips?

If you traced your air cells it should be the lowest place it dipped down to. At least mine have been that way so far. I'm just getting up and ready for work and won't be home until 7:30 am. I'll be wondering whats going on all night. I now have a total of six showing signs of piping. And I could swear I heard something chirp through the vent hole.
Cath Andrews the lady in Italy who has the (Raising happy Chickens) site says if she sets her eggs early in the morning she counts that as day one. If she sets them after mid day she counts that as day zero. Maybe that's why mine are a little ahead of schedule. I set mine about 8:00 am on March 27th.

My darling daughter thought the chicks could see the X I put on the shell from the inside, and thought they aimed for it.

I line them up around the outside wall, about 1/4" apart, Xs up and fat end in. Then I can see everybody at one peek.

Not sure what I am going to do next weekend with 50+ turkeys scheduled to hatch. I might have to break out the second tray.

On second thought, I only have 30+ on the 25th...the other 20 or so not till the 29th...then 20 more on the 11th...then stragglers from my flock daily after that...

I just got back from the movies (saw Danny Collins which was really good). I checked the incubator and saw that the humidity was dropping so I added a wet sponge to the incubator. I touched an egg to see if i put it in wrong and honestly think i felt something kick. lol. No pips yet. But today was only Day 19... Still early so there's still some hope.
