setting eggs on Thurs. Hatch date Feb 4th-who's with me??

Congrats on the babies coming already! I put mine on "lock-up" (as Alex would say) last night. Temp holding steady, but can't get the RH up past 65 to save my life ... who would think.. IN HOUSTON.

I'm going to stop today and pick up a couple sponges .. washcloths don't seem to be doing it .. and I don't have room for any more water ..

Day 19 .. all is quiet here.

well, looks like we have already had a few hatch, congrats! I candled this weekend and out of 12 BCM I have 6, would have been 7 but butter fingers dropped one

I felt sooo bad!! Out 12 of our own flock I have 6, so I'll have 12 going on lock down Thur.

We set 37 more this weekend!! Going to be a busy month!

I actually forgot you were hatching this week too Joanne!! That would be great! Thanks so much! I hope this one hatches! I had a better hatch when I didnt have an incubator lol. Last year when my oegb went broody and sat for a week, then decided she had enough. I then made an incubator out of a cardboard box and a heat lamp lol. Had the 3 eggs hatch.

I'm on day 18 today and when I candled last week the chick was moving, so I am very hopeful it makes it to hatch

I will be watching and waiting to see how everyones hatching goes!!!

My broody hatched her first last night in 12 degree temperatures. Just one so far but another is half way out. They're barred rocks from my hens who just started laying a month ago. Mama is silkie cross. She did a good job for such cold weather.
