Setting eggs on Wednesday June 29

Okay got home and put the last of the eggs in the incubator and we are right back up to 99.7. I love the new thermometer it reads so much better than the last one I had. It even goes to the tenth of a degree. Keeping my fingers crossed for a good hatch for everyone.

I made some cardboard dividers to put in the incubator once it goes in to lock down. Hopefully it will keep the chicks separate so that I can tell who is who from each batch of eggs. I would love to be able to get an accurate percentage from each batch of eggs Deleware, barn mix and brahmas so that I can give each person feedback on how their eggs are doing fertility wise after shipping. It also would be nice to know who was who once they hatch as well.

How is everyones hatching going so far?

I forgot to turn my eggs last night.........

a little late but yesterday morning I set 6 black copper maran eggs under my broody Rhode Island Red Ruby, she had already been broody for about a week when I decided to buy some eggs from Ebay as brown eggs really appeal to me, they all arrived in one piece only one appeared to have a loose air cell so I have marked this egg, fingers crossed Ruby does us proud and hatches some chicks! will keep you all updated

I would like to join as well. I set 24 shipped heritage barred rocks on 6-29 and another 12 on 6-30. I ordered two dozen and received 36 - YEAH! I put the two dozen in my Brinsea 20 and didn't have anything to put the extra dozen in. I just couldn't let the other dozen go to waste so I ran out to Tractor Supply and got a LG. I am a little worried about the LG after reading all the negative reports on here, but I figured - what the heck; what do I have to lose. I got the temps stable for 24 hours and set them. If I can get a few to hatch I figure it was worth the $40. Wish me luck.

Everyone is welcome. I also am using an LG and I haven't had any problems with it. It hatches out just fine. Things to watch out for that we have noticed with it. If the temp in your room gets above 75 or below 65 it will affect the temperature in your LG. Also any light from windows on really sunny days will too so don't place it next to a window. Try to keep it out of drafty areas because that will affect the temp keeping ability. I have also noticed that leaving a light on over the incubator will raise the temp inside the incubator. Mine has been right on at 99 to 100 since I set it up with no problems even though it's over 90 degrees outside and the humidity with one fill up of water has stayed around 35 to 40.

Good luck and happy hatching

I set 6 Sebrights on the 29th and 2 Vorwerks and 3 Friesians on the 30th (mine arrived a day after they were supposed to too!). I was thinking of stopping turning the Vorwerks & Friesians on their day 18 and they Sebrights on their day 19. What had you got in mind for yours, Lily?
