I usually wait until day 26.Question: How long do you leave unpipped eggs it the 'bator before throwing in the towel and performing eggtopsy? My fear is that I would find I had interrupted them...
I agree with Texasmja...this can be tough, but not quite as tough as marewatch in early Feb.!!!![]()

I would absolutely open the bator to help at this stage. Warm water and peel carefully, I would def help![]()
It's done. Poor thing was shrink-wrapped. It was a slow process getting it out and I don't know how the chick will do. It is chirping like mad, I will take that as a good sign. There were two eggs that pipped right after I started lock-down & had just bumped up the humidity. I wonder if they just didn't have long enough in high humidity?
The other egg is still. I should have grabbed it out too but one was all I could deal with.
There is a 3rd egg zipping too. It seems to moving along normally. I can see progress, slowly but it is doing it.
Plus I just noticed another pip- - - -it is going to be a long night.
So I don't know what to do about the other egg but I do think I'm too late for that poor chick. Since it isn't showing any signs I think I will hold off so I don't mess up the two that are working on their hatch. So sorry for that chickie, it was a little Delaware.
