Setting Eggs Sept. 24th-Oct. 4th-Last Hatch of the Year. Anyone care to join me?

I did it!

If it was me, I would pick the egg up and try to peel back just a tiny bit to see. When you put it back add very warm water to bator. I have only read about this on a website about help outs. If it has been that long I would check. But that is just me. If it hadnt pipped I would leave it alone.

I keep watching and still nothing. I am running a hot shower in the bathroom & I think I will take the bator in there to open. That way there won't be a rush of cooler dry air going inside. I just can't go too much longer since it's been about 24 hours. I will peel a little and see what is going on.
I am dragging my feet because everyone says to never open during lock-down.
Thanks for your input.

LOLOL

My Broody is doing quite well with her eggs.
So far five chicks out of the nine eggs.   Plus one egg has a zip.
Inside we are not doing so well.   I feel like we stalled.   I have been thinking about grabbing the chicks and putting them in a brooder, taking all the eggs and putting them under my hen, she will stay with it as she is the best.    Really I won't do that to her, taking the chicks would break her little heart.   The two yellow & black ones are her mutt chicks.   The yellow should be my Delaware.   The other two I am not sure of but I think one is a Maran.

Cuuuuuutttteeeee!!!!!!!

LOL My freezer flock is dwindling down, time to restock soon.

Fresh chicken is YUMMY! If I can't sell the roosters, we process them when they start crowing. We aren't allowed roosters where we live

If we grow out red broilers we butcher them at 12 weeks (because we free range all of our chicks and feed them twice a day) If we butcher a dual purpose breed we grow them to 15 weeks.
Are the dual purpose birds big enough at 15 weeks? Or is there a certain bird you process at 15 weeks?
