Setting Eggs Sept. 24th-Oct. 4th-Last Hatch of the Year. Anyone care to join me?

I just candle my eggs to check out how there are 3 I'll wait to see how they come along...3 maybe ones and 3 a big yes...one was so active it kept looking around at us with its big eyes. It was so cute!! Made my girls squeal in delight to see a baby chick still inside the egg....i just wanted to kiss the egg :) Yeah!!!!!!

Don't ya just love it.

Now y'all just made me more nervous.

I have no idea if the temps are too high. At the top of the eggs all three thermometers are reading around 100.5. The recommended temp for my incubator is actually 101.5 but I never could get it at that temp. It was always either 102 (too hot) or 100.5 (too low) so I opted for 100.5 (this was before I put the eggs in there, they've never been at 102). They went down to 95 for a few hours one day (still not sure why that happened but they seemed fine). It's a still-air incubator (no fan) and thus needs to be higher temp for some reason.

Now 7/8 are rocking around the clock and only 1 is giving minor wobbles. When I last candled there was insane movement but NO internal pips through the air cell...so I don't know! I do know one thing - they are laying flat on the bottom of the incubator tray right now and one in particular literally just rolled about 4 inches.

...little farts are going to give me an ulcer.

if it were my eggs id put the rockers in lockdown early and leave the others on schedule

okay then I'll pretend they're your eggs and do that, because I haven't a clue. Works for me!

<-- maniacal-insane-person laugh.

PS - I was mistaken - that one didn't roll 4 inches, I got it confused with the other one that was supposed to be by that one, but rolled a bit to the left...so really one moved about 2 inches to the right and one moved about 2 inches to the left so I thought it was 1 moving 4 inches.

Either way they're moving too much!
