I'm totally ok with that LOL :D

well the first four mille fleur d'uccle eggs didnt work out ....2 of them were clear, 1 had a blood ring (late), and the last 1 had a fully formed chick (that was in lockdown) but didnt hatch. the air cell  was "u" shaped (because of being a shipped egg) and my power went out 1 day.

as for the 2nd hatching of mille fleur eggs: all four look to be good and are due to hatch around the 18th of october so getting close to lockdown with them. fingers crossed for them. the call duck eggs will be closing in on their due date after the second mille flleur eggs hatch.... so excited for the remainder of the month.   my humidity goes from 60% (top end just after adding water) and 30% (low end before adding more water).   the temps stay at 99.5 degrees. the lockdown hatcher i  try to keep 60-65% humidity and 99.5 degrees.

Sorry about those eggs not hatching durn shipped eggs!At least you have a second chance with these next.

hehe...you sound like I did when I first candled.  I'm glad you're so excited about it and can't wait to hear more!

As for ours, I'm worried and nervous.  They're supposed to go on lockdown tomorrow night, but they're moving around so much that I'm afraid they will hatch into dry air this evening and die...it's far too early for this much movement, I think.   6 of the 8 are rockin' their eggs like a ship on a stormy sea.  2 of them are just slight wobbles (which I don't mind as much as the parties going on in the other 6). We shall see.

Wow!Already?Sure they werent farther along? Day 17?hummm

Now y'all just made me more nervous. :barnie   I have no idea if the temps are too high.  At the top of the eggs all three thermometers are reading around 100.5.  The recommended temp for my incubator is actually 101.5 but I never could get it at that temp.  It was always either 102 (too hot) or 100.5 (too low) so I opted for 100.5 (this was before I put the eggs in there, they've never been at 102).  They went down to 95 for a few hours one day (still not sure why that happened but they seemed fine).  It's a still-air incubator (no fan) and thus needs to be higher temp for some reason.

Now 7/8 are rocking around the clock and only 1 is giving minor wobbles.  When I last candled there was insane movement but NO internal pips through the air cell...so I don't know!    I do know one thing - they are laying flat on the bottom of the incubator tray right now and one in particular literally just rolled about 4 inches.

...little farts are going to give me an ulcer.:pop

WOW...On their way!!

Clunky Charms..... Yes this happened to me...I woke up already to put my shipped eggs into lockdown before I went to work and remove the turner and to my surprised had two eggs that had already zipped all the way around!!! I quickly turned of the turner and set up for lockdown humidity...freaked me out!

I guess with shipped eggs some were collected earlier than others and may have been sat on and therefor started to develop...it does happen...

I now have one chick and 5 more pipped...and one starting to zip...I'm over the moon that I got a splash from my splash breeding...the roo is very dark splash and my hen is very light splash...
