The 2 that were zipping have now hatched. I am thinking the B/S egg is a blue. Dark feathers with lighter colored tips on the ends of it wings.
Here are the first two almost dried off:
Congrats on the cuties!!!!

Hey Everyone; my Broody Hen did it! 5 of the 8 eggs hatched between day 22.5 and day 23. I checked the other 3 eggs and they were just stink.
That was this morning, I came home to only find 4 chicks under my Hen, the smallest one is just gone. Not too sure what happened or where the chick is. If she was too weak would mom eat her? I do believe she ate all the shells because those had disappeared as well by the morning when I checked. Hen and chickies are in the coop with the rest of the birds, but no roosters. This is her first and my first batch of eggs.
Also The Rooster of these was a White rock, and the only Hens were golden comets and white rocks, so how did I end up with a mostly black chickie? Im still pretty happy even though there was a loss.

Mother nature always knows best. It could very well be that the hen took care of things. I don't know a lot about color genetics so can't answer your question about the black chick. Congrats on the pip!! Sometimes when they start zipping they take a break for a while. Can you hear chirping at all? I know it's hard but give it some time.So I may have a problem... opinions please!!!!
I woke up to a perfect first pip! YAY!!
It pipped right at the air cell line. But then it started zipping, yay! Or so I thought. But then it started zipping low... towards the bottom of the egg. It zipped this low then stopped. I would not be worried if it was a normal zip as I know they need breaks from all of the work. But I am now worried because it's so low now and not moving at all. Sigh... Here is a picture of where it's been staying at now. You can see how far it is away from the air-cell line (drawn in pencil).
