Ok...we have LOCKDOWN!

13 eggs, but I'm pretty sure 2 are goners - one has no movement and that bitty, solid look to it, the other is moving but very underdeveloped. I left them in because they don't smell or anything. So really 11 worth shouting about.
They are:
6 Buff Orpingtons
3 that I believe are barred rocks
1 Brahma
1 Mille fiori which i'm gutted about as I started with ten and these were the ones I really wanted.

Humidity is up to 65%. Temp at 99.6. And I'm sitting on my hands.

Well....let the excitement begin!

Amy, sounds like you and I will only be one day apart on lockdown. Haven't decided yet when I should do that.....I put my eggs into the incubator on Wednesday afternoon. So maybe I should turn Monday morning and then call lock down?

Anyway...good luck loopy!

Well, I might not be hatching anything at all. :/ One egg is still completely dark, BUT, if I candle it at juuuuust the right angle, I can sort of make out some veins. I think.

The other is even weirder, there are still prominent veins but it's gotten clearer and there are more clumpy blood clots in it. How long does it take for a quitter to finish..um...quitting? Ugh, I just made myself sad typing that. ;_;

As for lockdown, I don't think 12 hours give or take is going to matter to the chickies. I think you'll be fine. And you BETTER show us pics!

They (were) are Mille Fiori di Lonigo...I don't know how common they are but they are very pretty. With only 1 egg left of the ten, I'm not hopefully of getting a chick of it. I sense a grumpy email to the seller coming on. I'm hoping he'll at least offer to replace the 14 infertile eggs. I really, really hope I can get 6 chicks out of this - and that is still undeniably poor from 30 eggs. Sigh.

When I was doing research into what duck breed to get, I read that the mille fiori de...something were extinct. XD That's so cool that you have one! I hope it hatches, I truly, truly do. I'm gonna be cheering you and your brood on, for sure.

Where did you get the eggs from? If he refuses to replace them let me know and I'll sic the entire APA on his tooshie! Hmmph!

I dunno. Maybe they are in the US. They are a traditional chicken breed here and fairly widely available in this part of Italy. Lonigo is only about ten miles from me...
