Setting eggs today 5-3-12...anyone with me?

I'm back from my two day trip and nothing new from the eggs. Looks like they haven't moved at all. There were a few times the power went out in the 21 day period and the temp did dip quite a bit. I have maintained 100 degrees at all other times.
I'll give them till Tuesday at 4pm before I give up on them.
Darn what day are you one now. I think I went to day 23 and quit. I got two only out of 18 eggs. I know some were already to hatch but didn't There was no movement or chirping going on so I am having my son do the eggtopsies on them today. He likes to do it to see what happened and I don't want to see it this time. too upset over it.

Eggs left the turner yesterday. Should they be in lockdown or can I open it and turn two eggs that are now 4 days from hatching? I have been turning them every eight hours since they left the turner yesterday. I will stop tomorrow morning, but the first eggs set on the 9th would be on day 20. I don't know what to do!

I don't understand......you have eggs in there that are in lockdown since yesterday? and two eggs that aren't supposed to go into lock down until tomorrow? If that is the way it is I wouldn't worry too much. I don't think one day early into to lock down will harm them. You can quick turn them if you want to but they may not even need that if it is just one day early. Some one else may tell you something else so you will have to decide what you need to do. Sorry I wish there was an easy way.

I agree...one extra day on lockdown isn't going to make a big difference. I would just leave them be and let the hatching begin!

Bangarang64...did you ever candle? So sorry to see that none hatched. :(

Investigated the eggs and it turns out they were all just yucky yolks except one. It looks like that one got about 7 to 9 days developed before it quit. I'm assuming the others just weren't fertilized. It's actually ok, because the family and I have decided to go with Wheaten Marans instead of the Buff Marans anyway. We go to pick up baby chicks on Friday!
