Setting eggs today 5/31/11

I am going to hatch out 12 light brahmas once my incubator is empty again along with some more mixes. I am hoping to get quite a few hens to choose from so that I can add them to the girls I already have. My other option would be to start a second coop for the purebred birds and to run two separate coops at the same time so I can have purebred brahma hens as well as adding a few in with the mix in the other coop.
 
I love my Light Brahmas...actually went to TSC because over the phone they said they were BUFF....got there and they were Lights...but I got them anyway...now they are one of my faves...I'm not typically crazy about white but I like these a lot...so they are "hatchery quality" but still cute

All i have are mixes but i am so getting an EE rooster when i replace mine. I love my girls and also since i got em free even better hahaha. Purebreeds are to much for me to want to look into at this juncture.
But i must have had a bad temp early cuz most of my eggs arent doing a thing. Maybe just toss em and start over. Up here i gotta watch the winters. They have been getting nasty and dont want to be putting youngins out there then. Besides my holding coop isn't winterized lol
 
Same here I am going to candle again tonight to see if there are any others I need to worry about I have been putting ? on the ones I think aren't developing so that I can be sure to check those again. Can't wait to see who hatches.
 
I finally saw my Ameraucana eggs move!! I am excited one is still totally dark but they have been hard to see through the whole time and none have any odor so I am willing to let them go to term. Now I have dark barn mix and dark BO eggs too but I can still see 6 out of 9 babies move. I am wondering if the others are just super big babies. Who knows. Day 16 lockdown in two days.

I just candled again...at least 6 of the seven I am positive are still growing!!

The seventh one I am not positive about...but it looks alive...I am getting excited....
