Setting eggs today, 6-30-12...anyone else want to join in the fun???

I just found this thread. I have 11 mixed eggs under a broody hen right now. I set them under her on June 28th. I get fertile eggs from the vet, and she has a great mixed flock. Last time we hatched from her we got some great feathered feet. It wouldn't surprise me if my vet through in some guinea eggs in there! She's always trying to push guineas on me.

My eggs are due to hatch on Thursday and I can't hardly stand it. My chicken is almost about "give birth". LOL

Welcome!

I'm getting super impatient too!!! Hurry up and hatch chickies!!!

My two are also named Thelma and Louise! we got our second egg today, and into the incubator it went. hey I am dying to try an experiment. if I took an egg from a store bought carton, and let it warm to room temp, and put it into the bator, does anyone think there is a chance it will hatch? I got the idea when I cooked myself some eggs for dinner. I'm actually afraid to to try it. But has anyone attempted it and had any luck?

We are expanding our coop right now. we discovered a flaw. if I were to open the back to check nest boxes, what's going to stop escapees? so now we are expanding the run an additional 8 ft sq to enclose the little house too. I feel so lost when it comes to building. and I'm neurologically disturbed which makes things harder. bi-polar, depression, anxiety, the whole nine yards and my animals help me relax and be happy again.
I have read about a small store (chain) that sells fertile eggs, but the average grocery store eggs aren't...what is the name of that store? Tom's, Jim's...??????

I have one thermometer that is reading 92 and another is reading 104 right now .....(the reason I haven't been paying too much attention to them! the other two at egg level are reading around 100) When I saw the wall thermometer at 104-105 earlier, I got concerned! I do not have a fan, and hope to keep the temp at egg level around 100, with the wall temp (close to the top of the incubator) reading at 102. I hope this spike hasn't harmed any of the babies.

I love the feather footed cuties too. The blue/lavender super fluffy and extra feathery are my favorites :) good luck with your hatch.

I love the little feathered feet. We have a feather footed rooster and he's just so cool. He's a bantam something or other, almost snow white and so nice with the girls. He can't mate them very well, but oh well. Now I'm getting really excited for my fluffy butts!
