Setting eggs Today due 3/11, anyone wanna hatch with me? We got chicks

What a great variety of eggs.
I'm incubating silkies and a couple of eggs from my own hens.
After my last batch of hatched eggs I thought it might be a good idea to add a "brooding buddy" from my own birds in case I only have one of the shipped ones hatch.
I only had 2 out of 15 hatch last time around from shipped eggs.

I'm in!!! Set 31 eggs this morning! Hatch date March 12th.. 28 from spunky~chick~mom and 3 of my own. 1 Lakenvelder, several EE's and a bunch of who you gonna be's!! Woo Hoo! Here we go!! Using the dreaded LG still air. This will be my 3rd hatch with it. And so far I have had good hatch rates..

OMG, so nervous, I just put 9 BR laced Wyandotte's, 7 Polish, 9 Ameracana's and 7 large red Cochin's in my mess of a home made incubator, due March 11th. Crossing my fingers.

Hey has anyone in our little group candled yet?
I candled on day 5 and culled yesterday.
Out of my 14 silkie eggs 8 are developing

And the two "companion" eggs from my own hens that I set with are both developing two.

candled yesterday, 12 look good. 3 probably infertile, ? on other 3. This is 1st hatch so I have no confidence in throwing out any eggs yet. Will recandle the questionable ones in a few days and will see. Good luck everyone.

I added another dozen silkie eggs this morning, too.

This will be my first staggered hatch.
I bought a second incubator to be my hatcher.

Yeah, hold on to them a bit longer. If they aren't stinking or weepy just keep them in there until you are sure.
It's amazing how often them "?" eggs hatch out little chickies.

I started my first ever batch today. 14 nice dark Wheaten Marans. Due 3/18. I cant stop peeking in at them. You'd think I laid them or something.
