Setting eggs tonight anyone else?(10-14-10) pics added

I'm unplugging the turner and upping the humidity on Tuesday. I'm down to a solid 5. I'd love 5 babies...girl babies. But I'll be happy with 1. This will be a tough week with the waiting waiting waiting. This is my1st run with my incubator so I have no idea what to expect.

I'm going into lock down tonight probalby around 10 pm. I have to cover for a co-worker tonight so have staying 5 hours over.

I have candled the remainig ten eggs and some of them seem full and others have lighter areas in them. I hope that is is normal. We'll see how things go.

Well, we're in lockdown a day late. Did a final candle before I set them out on the base of the incubator and pulled 4 eggs. Cracked them all to find nothing inside. Every other egg was solid dark, except for the air-cell.

i don't think you are a day late if you locked down today?

edited to say ooops, i thought you were the author of the OP--don't know when you set eggs so you may very well be a day late. i set eggs on friday oct 15th around noon, and added two more the next day, so i am lockingdown tuesday the 2nd of nov...tomorrow morning around 10 since i have to be at work from noon until evening and would rather do it a little earlier so i can see the temps/humidity stabilize for a while before leaving them.

I set the eggs at 10 pm on the 14th. If you count 10 pm Friday the 15th as being one day-- I locked down just about 18 full days after setting. I hope this is right as this is the first time I have hatched and I have read as much as I could find about it. Although, given my age and this menopause thing, I could have forgotten what I read and just had it set in my mind that Monday was the lock down date. I tned to forget the simplest things such as my lunch in the microwave at work and have to go back and get once I get back to my work area and sit down to eat.

i think you are fine. i was replying to dogfish and couldn't understand why (if they were the original poster--you, who set on the 14th-- they thought they were setting a day late.

i wish you guys would take a look at my thread here in this forum that shows the aquarium i just set up as a hatcher...opinions (like, they'll all die!!!) welcome, as i have only hatched in the bator before!

locked down! humidity and temp were still rising in this pic...it'll be about 70-73% and 98.5-100 degrees in a few minutes. ran it qll day yesterday tweaking it to get stability. also, the sponge/water container is now fixed so no chicks can get in.

i set a day late last hatch and things went fine. great rate for those that had made it to lockdown! so you are likely fine.
