Welcome to the world, Babies!
LaynaDon, I'm sure you burned a lot of calories giving birth so it is o.k. to have ice-cream!!!I am a country girl too, but with bad spelling. I just try to make up for it with spell check. YOU are very funny!![]()
So, I won an auction for LF Lav. orp. project eggs of 8+ to be shipped early next week and I will also be getting some BBS LF orp eggs from someone within 45 min. of me later in the week. I get to join the Easter hatch!!!!!!!!I signed up on that thread too but will post on here as well! However, they will be going in between 6 PM and midnight on the 17th because I will be away at a poultry show the 16th and 17th. They all get to go in as soon as I get home. Bator will be warming up before I leave on Friday.![]()

Also, could not remember if anyone on here is from WA or OR but I have started a new thread at
https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/636475/wa-state-poultry-events-march-23-24-2012#post_8547434
for upcoming poultry events in WA on March 23 & 24.
Lots more pips and attempting zips. They are hatching like crazy right now. As far as I know we have to Red Barnes (A name my brother came up with for RIR/Barnevelder cross.) A couple EE, and the rest I'm not sure about. We have moved 7 to the brooder. They are so cute!

We have to go to the feed store soon. I didn't realize until this morning that our chick waterer is being used... We have to get a new one. ={P (

23 and counting!! We actually have 25, but 2 I bought at Lone Star. They are BO's!!!!!Yeah, Congratulations, LaynaDon! You've had some awesome hatch rates, girl.
I think you've found your calling in life....at least something with animals.![]()
I love the picture of the 7 babies resting, so cute. Are those all RIRs? Do you name all of your chickens? Here are some names for RIRs: Cinnamon, Ginger, Spice, Chili Pepper, Rosie, Rusty, Rhodie, Nutmeg, Clove, Red!....![]()
I've never been to a TSC. I really like our local Rio Linda Feed Store, though. It has a small town feel and the workers are so helpful. They get baby chicks in every Thursday and always have a different variety. So, it's good to go once a week to see the new babies. The prices range around $2 or $3 per chick -not bad! My silkies were $3.29 each.![]()
There are still 4 or 5 pipped that are still working at it but I'm not sure how any of them will hatch.
I'm ecstatic! In the meantime I'm seriously considering hatching eggs and selling chicks for money. This is so much fun!
I thought one of his feet was a little curled, but I'm not so sure anymore. Now that he has gotten his balance he looks normal.
I told my mom if they got in a breed I wanted next week, we were going that day! They sell so fast!
