Setting eggs week of 7/13... Anyone with me??

i've been reading that forum all day it seems like! Guess my plan of action will be, let the eggs sit for 24 hours. then put them in the bator with the turner off for 7 days, then turn the turner on till lockdown. will candle at 10 days & 18 days. No matter how bad i want to candle. I really want these eggs to hatch!

I think im gonna candle mine tonight see how the air sacs are... Then place them in the incubator in eggcarton upright and leave them for 3 days ( if sacs seem normal) turning on day 4. if not normal then waiting til day 5 then turning 3 times starting on day 6...Candling on day 10 then Once againg at day 25 (before lock down)..

So thats the plan...

Got my eggs in. Ordered 21 total and got 33 total in

! AHHH, don't they realize when it says "fragile, live embryo" that means "be careful", not "hey, let's play soccer with this one"! Most of the air cells detached, they are resting in my closet (it a little warmer in there then the rest of the house). Some I could see lots of bubbles in, pretty sure those are goners. BOO!! Will let them rest. Should I set tonight or tomorrow morning?

I was gonna set tonight, but wasn't planning on them being in such bad shape.

I see SF, do you have Salmon Faverolles?

Wooo Hooooo!!!  I lucked out a new hatching thread and Brahma folks!!  Hello!!  I have 11 LB hens and 1 roo, been trying my hand at hatching all summer, lots of fun.  So far I've sold all my LB chicks but have 9 shipped LBs in lock down waiting for pips any minute (keepers)!!!  I also set 39 of my own LBs last night!!!  I'd love to do more with the Brahmas , possibly Buffs some day.  But found a fancy for Dorkings and Salmon Faverolle too, so working on 3 small folks to raise and work on.  I hatched 6 home bred LBs on July 9th and 10th along with 6 Dorkings.

There are a few Dorkings in the pic too, maybe 3 Dorkings but 2 for sure.

Thanks for making this post and wishing everyone the best of luck!!!!!!

Oooh so very cute, love the little Dorkings :)

Bleh, I totally spend too much time on here to. I'm gonna have to put my computer down here in a bit and CLEAN MY HOUSE!!! Since it doesn't seem that my kids (6 & 2) are going to do it for me.

If you figure out how to make em let me know, cause my girls (8&3) hate picking up their own toys!!!

Kimbroe... I am gonna check out that link, but since you already did the reading and research I may just follow your plan!!

Then if it's a batch had I can say it's Kimbroe's fault!

So after looking at my eggs gonna leave them in the egg carton without turnibg them for 5 days... And keep them in the egg carton while turning 3 times day... Wonder if i should hatch them in the carton too? Didnt with my last hatch but they onlynhad a 30 min ride and air sacs were intact.... Hmmm
Opinions? Id really like to get a few ducklings from this hatch if not all 12 eggs to hatch....
