Setting eggs week of 7/13... Anyone with me??

thanks for that info about the marbles--my hubby figured it out.... I put some in my waterer and I think it is an improvement. btw from my hatched chicks--we have six... 3 with a mama hen--and 3 without (which we had to help hatch BIG TIME--one little chick I had given up to all but dead but it's just a chirpy and happy as can be today... I just introduced "my" peeps to some keets (2)... the keets probably a week older than the chicks--are more timid than the chicks... One aside--I was watching the keets and chicks and "chirpy" was going strong when a hummingbird came to investigate what was making that chirping noise--I had noticed that the hummingbirds' "chirp" sounded much like the chicks yesterday--so something was obviously similar--that it would have a female hummer checking it out... Life is good here at Our Little Corner even if it's HOT & HUMID right now!!

Heads...UGH!!!

Ok, so I posted this up and left shortly after to run some errands (in a funk, mind you!). I just got home a little while ago, and as I was putting my groceries away I heard a "peep, peep", so of course I immediately pressed my nose to the window on my bator. Its official! I've FINALLY got my first pip! I felt so dejected this morning the last thing I wanted to do was be down again because my bator isn't doing anything. But its there, and its peeping and rocking and I'm back to being super excited again. I guess it never crossed my mind that I sat them later in the day then I usually do (um-dumb!). The first pip is in one of my B/B/S eggs, I can't wait to see what comes out!!! Go baby, go!!!
Congrads...the excitement from hearing that first pip is the greatest!

Well still have my one lone chickie, who we named Bear. No more pips when we left...Well got evacuated due to wild fires at the back of the property. Ugh! I hope my bator doesn't flip out while i'm gone!

Bear being evacuated!

Yes, I incubated my silkies eggs on 7/13. on 7/31 two hatched but one died. Today 8/2 another three hatched, they are very weak but seems to me that they will survive. one of them are black measuring 1 1/2 inch, so tiny! one is blue, the others are white. I think they all hatched premature.I still have five eggs in the incubator. Please, let me know how`s yours doing. I think silkies are so fragile to hatch. Hope yours are starting hatching by today or tomorrow.
Do you have pictures of your little babes? Have the last 5 hatched? So exciting!

OMG! I hope you all are ok... AAWW, poor Bear, as if hatching isn't stressful enough! Now is has to go through an evac!! Stay safe, Kim... I will keep you in my thoughts and all your friends and neighbors that everything will be ok...

I just couldn't leave Bear behind. My best friend teases me and tells me that she just knows I have a chickie emergency bag packed just incase.
