Setting first eggs tomorrow - 3/23

I had my first incubator hatch 4 weeks ago, i have had hens sit in eggs in the past, my grandpa put some of his layen hens eggs in with some of my game bird eggs. his started hatching on the 20 day and only one of mine hatched until the 23 day then mine hatched. I was worried to death mine wasn't going to hatch. only 5 eggs didnt hatch I'm about ready to do it again. also I love your rooster pic

We set our eggs on 3/25 at 6am. We're currently at day 19.5 and we had our first pip, lots of chirping, and some egg rocking. Our homemade incubator seems to be doing it's job! Love the coolerbator.

Just hang in there everyone! Give it a couple days. I hope you guys have some little fuzzy butts hatch out. I'm updating pics of mine, 2 days old now.


This one below is a really pretty gray slate color. So much more clear in person. :/ It came from an olive egg.

This batch is just a barnyard mix that I got from a local guy. The roo was an Ameraucana and the hens were Buff Orpington, Barred and Partridge Rock, Rhode Island Red, Easter Eggers, White Wyandotte, Turken, Light Brahma, Speckled Sussex, Black Australorp, Buff Cochin, Russian Orloff, and Spangled Hamburg bantam. So we could have some interesting mixes. Next week I have a shipment of "blue" breeds coming from My Pet Chicken and I emailed about getting a dozen Black Copper Maran and Blue Copper Maran eggs from a family in Parker.

Ok! Day 21 starts now for my 7 remaining "accidental low temp eggs". Well see if they hatch.
Set 12 purebred Buckeyes tonight. Im hoping for may 4/5 lil babies! WooHoo. Chicky fever!

Lol!!! I reset the incubator today too!! I packed it full of barnyard mixes from 2 diff sources. Looks like the beginning of another hatch-a-long.
