Setting first eggs tomorrow - 3/23

To answer the previous question I put my eggs in the bator on March 23.

I so put mine in on the 23rd. At 8 pm. So technically they are " due" to start pipping Saturday at 8pm. Don't worry.
I always trust my analog thermo over the digitals. Try moving the therms around if you can. If you have a still air it could be that there are hot spots in the incubator causing different thermometer readings.

Ok, I got home and all my chicks that had pipped were still alive despite the incubator temp going crazy. Here are pics as promised!!! 4 more have hatched in the hour since I've been home lol They are still in the bator though.

Look at this face!!!!

The little white one is the frizzle chick. I've been 'brushing' her hair to try to get it to fluff out. It dried matted from the hatch. I may have to wind up giving her a warm wipe-down in a couple days. Her belly is still tangled and matted :(

Oh my goodness those are some sweet babies. Nothing is cuter than the puffy cheeks! I'm glad the wonky incubator didn't mess things up - how scary!!

No news here. Going to bed soon, hope something will have changed in the morning!

Well 17 out of 18 hatched. I can see the other one...it's alive and seems to be doing alright but if I try to peel the membrane back it bleeds a little, so I wrapped it in a damp paper towel and put it back...I'll try to get them out here in just a bit
Even if this one doesnt make it 17/18 isn't bad at all

Well I came back to see if I could get the last chick out of its egg now and it was already out all by itself!

They were egg from a local guy I had bought some EE chicks from. He has all manner of hens in with a black copper Marans and a blue copper Marans rooster...so even though all the chicks are mixed they all look like black or blue Marans...here are some pics...
Let me cut off the light for a minute

I actually started with 24 eggs but 4 were infertile and 2 died early on days 2 or 3. I'm feeling pretty good that all the eggs that made it to lockdown hatched though. Although I don't know how poor little 18 is doing. He's still in the incubator all wet

Ginger! Their beautiful!!

Oh my goodness, congratulations everyone!! What sweet babies, and 100% hatch - that is awesome. We had our first baby hatch just now!! I can't believe it. 10 other pips. One is looking kind of odd, it's the white one to the left of the hatched baby:

I love it sooo much!
