Setting first eggs tomorrow - 3/23

Oh my goodness, congratulations everyone!! What sweet babies, and 100% hatch - that is awesome. We had our first baby hatch just now!! I can't believe it. 10 other pips. One is looking kind of odd, it's the white one to the left of the hatched baby: I love it sooo much!
Lol I say the same thing about my chicks! My hubby just doesn't get it haha. Missnu- those chicks are so cute!!!!! I just had a blue Marans hatch out :D The lady I got that batch of eggs from had blue and black copper Marans. Glad they're finally starting to do something! I have 2 Marans chicks and one pip. There are 6 black copper Marans eggs that haven't done anything, 5 mixed eggs from the other shipped batch that aren't doing anything, and of the 2 EE's from my chickens, one is zipping. I have 16 chicks hatched out.

I wish I could have taken a video of some of mine hatching...oh well maybe next time. I figure I'll probably hatch some more chicks during winter time or so. Depending on how many chickens we have at that time. I may have overdone it a little with the chicks this year.

Congrats everyone on all the chicks!! They are sooo cute!
Mine went into lockdown last night. Humidity is sitting at 66% and temp at 102 (it's a still air) so fingers crossed all goes well. I'm hoping they hatch early though day 21 isn't until Sunday. I might have a hard time going to work on Monday if they start hatching Monday...

Good luck!!!! The majority of mine always hatch a day early. ;)

It was thoughtful of her to hatch over night so I wouldn't be up all night worrying and staring haha now I have to find something to do to distract myself today from wanting to sit and watch...maybe ill go clean the coop...haha

Sorry for the terrible picture

Today is day 21 but not even a pip. I wonder if it is because I took the egg straight out from under my girls right after they laid them and into the incubator? Im wondering if the eggs that sit a few days before being incubated actually hatch earlier than day 21? Im not going to give up until day 25 as Ive read that they can hatch as late as that. :(

I'm doing my very first hatch. I'm almost at the end of day 20 and no sign of anything happening. I turned off the egg turner a couple of days ago and upped the humidity - currently running at 60% humidity and 99.5 degrees. Does that sound OK? Should I have taken the eggs out of the turner or is it ok to just leave them in it? Also, is it too late to candle? I haven't done it as yet but I don't want to ruin the chicks chances by doing it now if it's dangerous for them.
I'll be really disappointed if I don't get a single chick, but worse, I have 20 kindergartners coming over tomorrow (at the end of day 21) and it'll be tragic if they don't see any action.

I wouldn't candle yet, keeping humidity high is really important during lockdown. They should be removed from the turner. Humidity should be higher, I keep mine around 70+ and still had sticky chicks. I bet you'll have action tomorrow!
