Setting our 1st BC Marans eggs from our birds

    Yes they are pullet eggs, and we are so proud of them.

    What a long haul to check fertility, candling will be tough.

    After a couple of false steps on the first attempts, and a change in diet, the girls seem to be figuring it out now.

    We placed them with some Rhode Island Reds for clarity in the photos.


    Color is OK, hopefully it will darken a bit.

    Woo Hoo, excitement is in the air at our house. Now wish us luck.

    good Luck !!! I also have black copper marans !!! they have been laying since October . THis morning when I went ot my teenager coop of coppers and cuckoo together 2 little pullet eggs !!! I think they are my cuckoo girls the egg color is lighter thatn my coppers . But proud just hte same !!!
