Setting this morning due 2/13, anyone wanna hatch with me? Got a PIC!

Hooray!...Sounds like there just may be a few Silkie babies on the way!....Good luck this final week!...I will check in when the week winds down!...Boy I am getting anxious now!

Laura, Anxious is exactly what I'm feeling, too

This is only my 4th experience hatching but this is the first time I've ever had to cull down to so few eggs.
It's like it's riding on just three little eggs now.
I'm feeling the nerves for sure.
I'm praying we all have good hatches.

Fingers and toes crossed here!...I would hold my breath and stand on my head if I thought that would help

....LOL...Good Luck!...Mine are due to hatch on the 12th also!

Mine are in lockdown!...I candled them again and I had to remove my only B/B/S egg...

...I am not sure how the other two are doing for sure...

My two Brahma eggs (from my girls) are still in there also... I was just walking past my incubator and I heard ....Peep..Peep...Peep...Peep...I have a pip!...

...Ok now I am nervous and excited!...It is one of my Brahma eggs so I guess BBQ did his job!...Now I hope they all get out ok!...

How long should I expect this part to take now?...My last hatch was a batch of Magpie ducklings and I had to help all the boogers out of their eggs...

..This is my first chickie hatching and I am sitting on my hands and pacing the floor!

Any news on your babies?

~Laura

My baby Brahma made its entry into the world this morning at 6:00 am...It is doing great....looks good!...Just looks lonley!...Sure hope someone else in the bator hatches so I don't have one lonely baby...

Anyone else?

~Laura

Yeah! Great news Laura...I hope more hatch too.

I have a pip this evening from one of my three remaining eggs.
They looked good when I locked them down so I am hopeful.
But I do fear the lone chick though.
Good luck to every one!
I'll post pics if I have anything to show you all

Sounds like that baby is on it's way out Carolyn...I still only have the one chick that is in the incubator wanting out!...It has taken to running around chirping now and drinking water through the wire incubator floor!...Not sure how long I should give this poor thing before I take it out...I am afraid to open the incubator and disturb the humidity and temp which have been holding steady now...Any thoughts?...

Also does anyone know how long you wait on eggs to hatch?...It will be 21 days Saturday morning at 3:00 A.M....I hate all this waiting now!

~Laura

You got a busy little guy there Laura!
I know a lot of folks wait as long as 23 days to give all the eggs their best chance to hatch.
A chick can stay in the bator for 72 hours without food or water.
I'm still with a pip which has got a little bigger.
