Okay maybe not a total loss, rechecked tonight, all 4 from my own girl are bouncing around, can see thier little eye !!!! 2 from the shipped eggs are moving also! So I think there are 6 viable eggs not just 2!!!!! I sure hope so

However if all of "my" eggs are good and only 2 out of 9 of the shipped eggs are good, that makes me feel like it was not my bator that caused the problem. PS I did let the shipped eggs rest for 24 hours before I put them in.

Thanks I when I was checking yesterday and saw blood rings on the first few, I just thought the others with dark rings were the same, I was trying to be quick, but tonight I took my time and saw what I missed last night!!! Yea!

just candled mine again (2nd time) and they are on day 11. i won't candle again till day 18. anyway....out of 29 eggs, 26 are definately growing and jumpin around! 2 had absolutely no growth so i pitched them. and 1 is "ify". so things seem to be going well!

I last candled Day 8... Will candled again tomorrow (Day 10).
At Day 10 what can you see? I already see the eye with veins.....

I heard day 18 you really can't see much because of the chick has grown they said day 14 you should be able to see a lot.

well, today (day 11), i saw veins (of course) and lots of movement from black blobs. the reason i couldn't see more in detail is cuz the eggs are so dark! (marans and olive eggs). maybe someone with some lighter eggs can answer better. but they were moving around a lot....swimmin in the egg! lol! cute lil boogers! the great thing about candling now is that you have something to compare to when you candle at lockdown. if (at lockdown) you don't see a completely black egg (except the air cell) and you see no movement, could mean the baby died and didn't make it to lockdown. i remember from previous hatches that i couldn't see JACK at lockdown, except i COULD see movement around the air sack, which told me the baby was alive.

Today i rechecked em. I tried SOOOOOOO hard not to recandle. But i couldn't resist. (anybody else get that feeling?)

I have seen moving black blobs (embyros) in many of the eggs.

But have 2 iffy's because 1 has an embyro but it does not seem to move as much as the others.

and the other I can't spot an embryo at all but red veins...

Hmmm. Number 12 had an embryo but it was tough to see but it 's there.

In 9 more days I'll hopefully be a mommy to a few chicks...

But I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch....literally. lol
