I am hatching these eggs for my grandma. She is going to be getting a dozen Ameuricanas and we will be putting them in tonight or tomorrow. Also later I would like to hatch some others for me. I would like to do a fake hen thing. I read on here about someone doing it and was wonderingif anyone had ideas on how to do it?

Hi, I would like to join you.
I will be setting 6 White Campbell duck eggs and 6 Buff Laced Wynadotte chicken eggs in my incubator this evening. Hopefully I will also be setting 6 Lemon Pyle Brahma chicken eggs tomorrow if they arrive on time.

Can I join, too? I have a bantam orpington who just started sitting on some eggs yesterday. Woo hoo!

Not sure how many she's got in there. First time for her going broody. First time for me having a broody hen. Lots to learn!

All my eggs are now in the incubator. One of the duck eggs has a crack in it but I've put it in anyway until the first candling at least, just to make sure. This is my first hatch of the year so hoping for a good start.

Thank you guys for joining. It about 2 and a half days and so far things haven't been goig as planned. We have had major drops and spikes in humidity but the tempurature had stayed pretty consistent at around 97-98 degrees. Ill candle on Monday and see how it goes. I might post some pics too!

I have eggs in my bator that are on day 11. Candling looks good to my untrained eye.

As for the ones under my hen...no candling. Fattie is a little thing, but boy is she quick to peck!

I had a hen like that. I always had to use something to block her head (mostly Tupperware lids!).
