Thought i would post a picture of the broody and her brood..she took them out o the nest today

Awwww, those are sweet pics! She's a good mama!

I have 2 hatched fully and another egg zipping and 7 more pipped! More pics later this afternoon once they dry up fully. Back to bator watching!

Thanks! I may need some advice... I came home to find my bator, which has kept very good temps for 18 days, at 102 deg. Needless to say I am kind of concerned. Is it the chicks making the temp spike? If that's the case, should I turn down my wafer thermostat a smidge to get temps back down to 99.5? Or is this supposed to happen? I have retread some incubating instructions but can't find anything that says I should be getting a temp spike, just that humidity will increase during hatching. Arghhhhh, help!

Thanks Delisha, I have opened all vent holes. Still high. Maybe my wafer thermostat failed - but it's brand new. I'll keep an eye on it and try reducing temp via thermostat.

Put 20 in lock down this morning. How high is too high on humidity? It's usually really dry right now so I filled two water trays, but today has been really humid so if my gauge is accurate (which I don't think it is) then it's about 75 to 80%.

The consensus seems to be 60% humidity for lock down. Hard to tell if you're unsure of the accuracy of your gauge (hygrometer?). Good luck!
