Gloria Jean has been force feeding the last chick born after the fiasco of the humidity drop. The toes were curled and truthfully I did not feel it would make it but wow, that little peep has surprised me. It is tiny but running around everywhere now. eating on its own now. Whew ! that was a close call.
Also I had a rather insidious squamous,basal cell carcinoma removed from my nose. Such an innocent little flaky spot. My eyes are swollen almost shut this morning. Be careful to keep that humidity up above 60% after pipping. The membrane dries out so fast this time of year.

Glad the little guy made it and glad to hear you are ok too. Skin cancer runs in my husbands family...he has fair skin with red hair too. Goes to the skin doctor once a year for checks ups and he works out in the sun all day.

I'm watching the humidity closely and I have a wet sponge in there. One is pushing through the shell right now.....more pics to come.

Woke up to 4 pips. No one out yet! AAAHHHH this is so hard! fortunately I have company in the sky as I type, flying to see us.....so I have lots to do to keep my busy! Gloria Jean, hope you are feeling ok and heal up fast! Yay Justine! Beautiful babies!!

Delisha - hope you get your humidity dilemma figured out - you sound like you know what you're doing, so I feel confident that you'll work it all out.

I have officially gone into lock down, whew. I learned that going into lock down took me longer than I would have liked with the rearranging of some eggs from carton to hardware cloth and moving things about in the bator. Candled just the questionable eggs, then left them in anyway. We'll see what happens.
