How adorable they are.....that's a chick glamor shot!how did you get them to sit still? It's like taking the kids for pics I'm sure...LOL!
Ditto! Adorable![]()
Up to five babies, today is officially my hatch day. up late last night and several times throughout the night watching some hatch! My four year old thinks it is the coolest thing ever! He is trying to convince me to keep at least one, we plan on selling them. We already have 19 hens and one rooster, not sure I want to mess with trying to raise one chick!
Thanks chickenlickin8!
I'm debating on whether or not I could handle the stress and anxiety of hatching my own chicks...not to mention the cost of an incubator. I can only have 10 chickens so investing in something I would only use once would be a bit foolish, although it sure sounds tempting!
I will probably just get chicks and a brooder box with puppy pads as Gloria Jean suggests and call it good. I think I should invest more into the coop and run...you never know though!
Thanks again ladies, love all the pictures (those silkies are adorable!)
Pat/chook chick from Colorado
Melinda, I love your new avatar! Too cute! How are your eggs doing? Any pips?
My babies are 3 days old now and are like jumping beans...so cute! Ideal Poultry in TX is a good hatchery if you want chicks and don't want to hatch. I've ordered from them in years past when I didn't' want to mess with hatching. Always received healthy, live chicks...no dead ones thankfully.
