Settling down for the night

The chicks I got this morning are settling down for a little before we take them out to their (hopefully) adoptive mom!

Prospective mother is a 2 year old black australorp that’s been broody for about 3 weeks. She is is a separate smaller coop that we use for brooder/isolation when needed. Fingers crossed she takes these cuties but if not they’ve got a great set up inside the house

She didn’t, which despite having the indoor brooder ready, made me so sad! There’s something so wonderful about watching the chicks learn from a hen.

Anyway, I’m now looking into converting the small outdoor coop into a brooder for them!
