Sewandgrow's Second "Almost" Annual Friends of a Feather Poultry Party Turlock, CA May 18, 2014

Almost sure I'll be there. I'll have hatching eggs and if I'm lucky, chicks. I'll update what I have before that weekend.

My great grandma had one of those big crack freezers. Don't remember why, but is kids took turns sitting on the top. LOL

Aren't you the night owl Kim....LOL. I am having an insomnia attack.....LOL

I knew this was coming and now it's almost here!! I am hoping to be able to make it with a couple of my kids. If so, I will have TONS available to sell from chicks to juvenile pairs and trios and even laying pairs and trios. I will try to make a list of what all I have. sometime this weekend and confirm that I can make it… but sure would be fun to have some chicken talk with friends again!!

Please feel free to let me know if there is something you have been wanting that I have. I think I will just plan on not setting very many eggs that week or promising orders to make space.

Happy to contribute a few "prizes" as well in way of hatching eggs, chicks, etc.

I hope that you can make it Papa! I have lots of Pita Pinta chicks to bring as well as some PP/Cream Legbar mixes and hopefully some PP eggs. The chicks will be a few days old through 10 wks. I'm pretty good at sexing them at about 4-5 weeks. I moved the PP flock to the farm and into a breeding pen. I'm not sure if I will have eggs because they are still adjusting to the move. Plus one or more of them must be bored and decided to start eating eggs. Please let me know if you want any chicks. I need to start listing them to make room for the last few hatches I have in my incubator. Then it is time for a break!

Jeff, I'm so glad to hear that you might be coming! It seems like that first party of Karen's & the one at Cheryl's were a lifetime ago :) BTW, those Swedish Flower Hen eggs you shipped developed beautifully! I have 12 gorgeous chicks running around the brooder. I will PM you about the next "want" on the list ;)

PPs for me!!!!! Also I will PM you about the turkeys you mentioned in your last post. Michael is adamant that Tucker have some friends & I can't seem to get them to live once they are hatched :(

Here are the breeds that I may/should have eggs or chicks from the day of the party if anyone is interested. I have a hatch due on Tuesday so I should have chicks at the party from 5 days to 8 weeks old:

  • Delaware
  • Lavender Orpington
  • Coronation Sussex
  • Sumatra (LF) eggs only
  • Serama (smooth) ** I have adults available in the SERAMAs as well, several colors
  • Silver Penciled Plymouth Rock - eggs only
  • Blue Wheaten Ameraucana
  • Olandsk Dwarf - 1 young pair, 1 extra cockerel + eggs

Possibly a few Mille Fleur D'uccle chicks + eggs

PM me for more info. Jules

I know why! It's because the cranking requires effort and will lift the whole thing up unless something heavy is holding it down :)
