Hi everyone, this is my first post here! I’d like to hear anyone’s opinion on the gender of my chook. It is an 8 week old chick whose mother is a hybrid white layer (leghorn cockerel over Rhode Island white hen) and whose father is what I think is a gold laced Wyandotte but could very possible be mixed with something else.

I’ve monitored this chick closely and it has had lots of signs pointing towards it being a hen - two sets of feathers on its wings, round feathers on its tail and remainder of its body and slow comb development up until very recently.

Please let me know what you think and thanks in advance!

Cockerel, unfortunately.
That comb is just too red for any pullet, and pointed feathers only come in around 10 to 12 weeks; all cockerels have rounded ones before then.
