I believe a Cream Legbar hen only guarantees a single barred allele (which 100% of her offspring would get), but then if the roo also had even a single barring allele, that guaranteed sex-linkage would 50/50 disappear? But any roo sire with even a single barred allele should always appear cuckoo at minimum??? Phenotypes (appearance) & genotypes (paired and/or influenced alleles) don't always match.

Cream Legbar Hens have just the one barring gene, but it’s sex linked to her sons so you can use them with solid color roosters (the darker the better) to have sex linked chicks; the boys will have the white dot on the head, the girls will not. It’s the Rooster that has 2 barring genes so ALL of his offspring will be barred.

So, your BCM roo is the "Frenched" (leg-feathered) American version, not a clean-legged Brit! Is your roo more heavily feathered, or about the same?

What a pretty boy! How old is he? His tail is much more developed than my 7 month old predator-alert BCM Nico, who's been rudely mounting just a couple months and is finally dancing a bit for the girls, but still doesn't tidbit. (Nico has much thicker leg feathering, so hoping he doesn't get too hot in 9B California.)
