Jap bantams are pretty calm birds, if you put them with the quail when they are young they should get along ok........I've never tried this but, all the Japs I use to have got along well with everything except OE game bantams(2 totally different temperments) The OE game bantams picked on them. I would not process them, they are small birds! I would keep one that I wanted and try and get him some girlfriends.
