They look more like Marans than Rocks. Are the photos washed out, or is their leg color really that pale?My babies are 9 weeks old today! How time flies!!! Any roos in the bunch? I have my guess, but I'd like other opinions.
Notice that their names all have male equivalents. I wouldn't be opposed to a roo, but I already have one. I'd just have to get more hens![]()

If they are 'purebred', then those are all pullets.
The big difference is in the skin color. Rocks have yellow skin. Marans have white.You think so? I ordered them from a hatchery so just assumed I got what I ordered. Their legs have only ever had splashes of black. I looked at pics of marans and they're so similar. I wish there was a (reasonably priced) way to DNA test them. Though I'm not sure those tests even exist.
And thanks for the insight on the gender. That's what I was hoping!
