sexing chicks using a magnet

Anyone ever heard of this or do this??????
If it's a girl it will go in a circle and if it's a boy will swing back and fourth.
You hold it over their head , the magnet is attached to a string!!!

I'm sure there was someone on eBay selling magnets on string claiming it could sex your chicks.

If anything, I think it's an old wives tale, and wont work.

It goes back to using a Pendulum to sex babies... I havent tried it but I can't see where it would hurt to try.. Maybe mark the chicks and keep records .. Can't hurt to try...

She knew which kid she was hanging it over and moved the pendulum to fit. She may not have even realized she was doing it; she's probably convinced herself that it works and her desire to have it work affects how she moves it over known girls and boys.

The old wifes tail I've seen, was done by hanging a needle on a string. Same concept! You can sex most chicks by there wing feathers. You have to do it while there between 2 & 4 days old. You tube it, you can see how it's done.
