Very much boys! They have the drake curl and all to go with the raspy quack. Please keep a very close eye on your boys as they can seriously injure or kill your chickens while trying to mate them. Ducks and chickens are very different in anatomy and it is a big risk to your chickens.

Thank you so much for the information. I am heartbroken and I'm going to have to find a new happy home for them. My coop is too little for male ducks :-(

What do you mean by "for male ducks"? If those are the only boys you have, I think they'll be fine together. I kept just two boys alone and they were the best of friends, two peas in a pod. I didn't notice mine personally trying to mate my chickens, but they're bantam ducks and all of my chicken girls are bigger than them!

I live in a City and have a coop in my back yard. We have Chickens for the eggs and wanted to try Ducks.
We don't have room for another coop, as much as I would love to keep them, I don't think we can without them laying eggs.

Hi, I have an Ancona that's almost a year, I'm assuming he's a boy due to the curl in his tail but I'm not 100% sure since his voice never changed. Any suggestions? Is he too old to vent sex?

If he has a tail curl he is male. Also if he hasn't laid an egg by now definitely a male.
