Sexing my Barred Rock chick

I was afraid of that! someone from my family brought home a dozen free range eggs so we wondered about the crossbreeding too.As for the brown/coppery color it looks to me that something has spilled on her wings like food or something and she has no pink on her comb. About the comb? my other BR has a large comb I figured it was normal for BRs to have larger combs.Don't even tell me that one is a Roo too! I think I may cry

anyhow If it turns out to be a Rooster I already have someone willing to take it for a pet and not food!

My other BR turned out to be rooster

can't believe it! can anyone tell what this one would be mixed with? based on the other egg colors that were in the same carton Blueish green, light tan,and brown.

You can't tell from egg color what it was crossed with, if it was, sorry, can only guess in the most general terms since even Easter Eggers can lay a brown egg. Too many variables there. What you need to do is just post a picture of this chick in about two weeks for us in natural light, hopefully on an overcast day. Bright sun is the worst way to photograph a bird.
