I am having some trouble determining the sex of some of my 4 week old chicks. Can anyone help? I have a Dominique and Mille Fleur D’uccle (frizzled) that I’m unsure of. Seeing a lot of pink/red on the Dominique but it’s legs have a shadow grayish look to them so I’m unsure. My Mille’s cone is def pinker than my other Mille so makes me think male. And my paint Silkie is an enigma! These three are questionable to me. They don’t chest bump much and they are more timid that my other chicks that I’m sure are males. Any help will be welcome. I was foolish when I picked out some chicks. I have 4 def hens. Looking at a possibility of 6 males. I don’t want to get rid of them bc I love them and have worked hard to get them to be friendly.

They are all a little early, especially the silkie. I can give you a guess though. (I'm not good at sexing silkies though, so maybe someone else can give you a guess.) The Dominique looks like a cockerel for now. The D'uccle looks like a pullet. Also, she is not frizzled. If she were, then her feathers would stick out all over her body.
Here is a picture of my frizzled cochin bantam at the same age.

Oh good! I hope it is a pullet. And thank you for clearing up the frizzle part. I have two other mille’s and the farm told me that one could possible be friz. This one is def not as smooth as the others so I thought maybe she was. Here are my other two Mille, Mellow Yellow (not so yellow anymore pictured second) and Sassy (not sassy at all)! Lol

Here are my other chicks. Dottie (SL Wyandot) and Millie T (I hatched her from other hen and rooster that I adopted, no idea what breed) I was thinking they are cockerels. What do you think? Lots of chest bumping with these. They are my friendliest and will perch on my arm or get in my chair with me.

How old are they? They do appear to be cockerels.

Chest bumping isn't just a cockerel thing. Pullets do it too.

So cute!!! This one’s cone is much redder than all of mine so maybe all three of my D’Uccle’s are pullets. Fingers crossed!
