Hi all you chicken sexing experts! We have 2 EE chicks who are somewhere between 4 and 5 weeks old now. I know this is still pretty young for sexing, but I thought it'd be fun to get some early guesses and post updates as they develop. Thanks for any input you have! (Sorry all these photos have a magenta hue to them due to a nearby light. I'll try to get better color next time!)
Chick 1 - Iris:
Iris started off a little ball of light grey/lavender fluff but has started growing orange feathers around her back/neck/shoulders/chest. She is very shy and skittish and mostly keeps away from us.
Chick 2 - Pidgey:
Pidgey started out dark chipmunk colored and started growing black feathers on her head and a typical brownish orange partridge (is this the right term?) body. She is very bold and always the first to hop into my lap when I open the door of their pen. I also think she is at least half a week older than the others, as she already had some tail feathers and was larger when we got her (supposedly at 1-2 days old).
