SEXING PHOENIX LONG TAIL

The bird is two and a half months old with a pale comb developing and some wattle development. Cockerel or pullet???? The larger comb but being pale in color makes me wonder.

my guess is roo based on the early comb and wattle development. but I need a full body pic to tell for sure

I am quite stumped... But my guess would be young little Cockerel. Goodness, whether it's a lad or lass, you have yourself one fine bird! Wouldn't want you going out of your way, but may we please see a full body photo? Thanks.

It's a cockerel for sure. If it were a pullet, it wouldn't have that black chest or red on its shoulders. And the color variety looks like golden duckwing to me.

No saddle feathers----yet. I'm hoping for a roo. If needed, I'll try for a picture showing the tail tomorrow.

I believe you have a pullet, it’s totally normal for pullets to develope pale combs at 10 weeks old. If it was a cockerel it would have developed a comb as early as 2-4 weeks of age and the comb would’ve started to turn a bright red. You may just have a slow developing cockerel.

On the fence over this one, the coloring doesn't look typical for a female, and yet is not showing "male" clues. Very nice looking bird - whatever it is

(Yes the Pheonix is dubbed he was like that when I got him).
