My two 13 week old silkies The Blue Splash is Gandalf & The dark Blue is Mari. Any guesses on sex? I am torn on Gandalf but I'm pretty sure Mari is a Pullet.

Id say Mari is definitely a pullet and am leaning that way on Gandolf too but need more close ups of Gandolf. Specifically a good profile shot and comb shot.

The broodiness of silkies is of interest to me. though I've heard it's very hard to sex them. I hope I manege to find some nice girls using the useful info above. 1 tiny question: is it possible to cross breed them?

Is this a pure Silkie? It looks like a roo to me. I am new to chickens. I have 1 black silkie and it's a hen. It's 6 months, clucks, doesn't crow, and it doesn't have the thing on it's beak or those little cheek flaps, waddles? , like yours in the pic has. Yours is cute! We have a roo that is a silkie cochin mix and we pick him up and play with his little cheeky things. He's very social. The hens, 2 of them, are much more stand off ish. I think this photo you have posted is of a rooster.

This ones hard but Im going to guess pullet. She seems to hold herself like one, and I know the non bearded silkies can have sizable combs and wattles. But Im really not certain. Id say behavior is your main giveaway right now.

I think my silkie is a male the behaviors are the same he/she is always jumping around and flapping the wings, and acting more dominant. Also backing up the feet and I noticed the red skin in the middle of the beak like the picture above. Also the crest goes up. Do you think this is a roo?
