Yep hes from the Whites who were masking barring and when he bred to the whites to improve type, some barred ones popped out I guess. He will look better when he fills out though, I can already see hes gonna be a big roo.

hummm I hatched a Birchen Marans who was supposed to be blue copper evidently he's what you call a split 1/2 silver 1/2 black copper in the birchen pattern I have some nice Cuckoo Marans hens who lay a nice dark egg but don't have feathered legs and this rooster only has feather stubbs and was hatched from a nice dark egg. When reading the sex link info I could use this roo to make black sex links? Is that right so many people just want dark egg layers and can't keep roosters so maybe I can make lemonade..what do you experts think?

you can use him to make black sexlinks but if he isnt pure for only gold genes, he wont work for Red Sexlinks.

I now have an empty pen that's a rare thing here

So after we kill off the squirrels that like to hang out and eat chicken food and who have dug some mighty big tunnels (I thought the chickens could run in them) I'm going for it it takes 3 weeks for "pure" eggs and it should be nice and wet by then here I'll hatch some out.....
