this I do not know someone else will probably have to answer this one but If you look Abby already passed hers. Cause I don't see it no more.

Yeah she's passed it. Probably with help of the oxytocin. When I had my daughter they gave me oxytocin after she was born to assist in getting the placenta out and to shut off the bleeding. It seems to be a very regular practic now with Vets and human Doctors too.

Oh & if you decide to help the mare deliver should you only pull the foal during a contraction like you would a dog or can you pull the foal with out a contraction???

Yes if you have to help you only pull durning the mare/bi*tch/whatever pushing. IMO you shouldn't help at all unless you know for sure there's a problem. A problem being a breech birth with obvious distress or stuck shoulders, or the animal pushing for a long time and the baby staying there with no progress. As long as there is noticable progress "help" isn't helping.

I don't think the foal nursed...the mare keeps moving away from her.

if you look wherever baby goes the mom moves away from her. baby is trying to get some nursing done. Something is wrong with mom. maybe she will come around shortly

but she seriously looks very disinterested in her filly...that is not really normal....

I ve never seen a filly so young or mom with a baby so young so I have no idea but it did look like she kept moving away. How long should you wait before doing something to get the baby food?

I agree. She's only mildly interested, I think Mom is still in a lot of pain. I keep seeing her butt tucking as if she is still having contractions.. OOh and I just saw her pin her ears back at the foal too.
