Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

Climbed up on the ladder to take a pic this morning. I have to wait for it to dry up to do further work on it. :he

Think i may just staple down some plastic, as i already have that on hand and that will save me a trip to home depot.
I tried that foam around the well pipe coming into the house. Doesn't work for water.

Communication is a vastly overrated. Perhaps the solution is for you to learn how to build stuff. There is absolutely no reason why women cant construct things to an equal standard as men. There are plenty of women on this site who have excellent construction skills. Speaking as a man who has been making things most of his life,
?? I don't think being a woman has anything to do with the fact that I'm clumsy and slow working with my hands. Even if we argue, it's a fact that it's still much easier doing many things with two people even if they are not of equal skill.
I'm not the slightest bit interested in communicating with someone who is critical of what I do but can't do any better themselves.
Fair enough.
Before and after treatment pictures would have been helpfull.
Thank you very much for your input, that is a relief for me. I know the hormones turn their legs red, but they really seemed much redder and bumpy the next day I applied the mixture. This is before, but once again the pictures are not taken from close enough.

What exactly did you apply to his legs? Make, strength etc.
This is the vaseline : https://www.shop-pharmacie.fr/medicaments/F10001728/cooper-vaseline-officinale.htm

I'm not sure I will translate correctly : the iodine was mixed for me by the pharmacist at 1% in an alcoholic solution. He said they don't sell it premade anymore, and don't make higher concentrations. I mixed both trying to get the spreadable consistency. I couldn't give you a ratio, as the vaseline is very thick, almost solid, and the solution completely liquid.

Morning X batts.
I am going to plug a few mortar holes in the old cellar walls.
Rats get in the root cellar through them.
This building concrete was here when we bought the house.
Little brick building. Maybe 8x8 wood roof.
Forget my manners tax.

It is possible that the alcohol is acting as an irritant depending on which alcohol has been used. You can buy this in Spain so one can probably get it in France.

I read through it twice. I must say, scientific studies are difficult for me to understand. It seemed as though they found that baby chicks would adapt to cold temperatures in a variety of ways? If anyone could elaborate further (or correct my synopsis please let me know!)
Chippy laid her first egg!

It's a small tan one just like the one her mama Skeksis hatched from (she lays regular size olive colored eggs).

Yay! Congratulations!

Just plain miserable. It poured down all morning and early afternoon. 3C with wind chill and it blew the entire time I was at the allotments. Everybody came out for a while. Some went back to shelter pretty quickly even though the rain stopped. The wind was what made it uncomfortable for me and the chickens.
