That looks like a lash egg to me.Look what I found in the nest box. Three different eggs and the fairy egg.
I wonder if Lima who seems the most likely hen laid it.

As someone who spent a lifetime in higher education, dealing with very clever people who worked hard and (in recent times) paid a lot of money to be there, I can assure you that the answer is 'no'but can I convince people it's a thing
