I saw the sun today!

I saw a lot of rain today. Went shopping and decided to do walk into another shop to look around, just because I didn't want to home on the bike in another shower.

Bought a new lightweight raincoat in the sales. The highest level in the Rijn river is expected on Sunday. After that they expect much more sun and cold weather.

The chickens are fed up with all the rain too.

They're forcasting a cold snap for the West Country. Freezing overnight for around a week. Has to be better than the wind and rain.

From around 18°C (64°F I believe), we are dropping to 10°C (50°F) this week. I am not looking forward to the cold. Thankfully, the temperatures will not stay at 10°C, but it is a warning for the February cold that's right around the corner

Minnie keeping her friend Henny company during her moult with Millie in the background. Millie is a serial broody & had several mini moults. Minnie (Barbu D’Uccle) had a not too bad moult but Henny the porcelain Sablepoot was the last to moult and was absolutely miserable. To reward her friend’s loyalty Henny plucked Minnie’s beard feathers out!
Maybe she just didn’t want her friend to be different? Just growing some neck fluff now so we shall see…..

Now it's snowing. Gross!

Another dry day with periods of sunshine at around 6C. It felt quite warm in the sunshine for a while.
Everybody is eating well. Droppings all look good. Everyone is active and interested, especially Dig who's everywhere at once.
Dig is doing okay for his age. Carbon gives him the hardest time. If he makes a grab for her she goes into fulll battle order. Fret and Mow sort of avoid him when he's trying it on. Early days. I've found males need to be at least a year old and preferably eightenn months old before one gets a decent idea about their character.
