Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

Lovely afternoon here in Bristol. I left the flat earlier than usual so I could clean up the rubbish on my allotment plot and start digging it over. Chickens got three hours out this afternoon.
Matilda isn't the full ticket. She ate okay but was on the subdued side. I'm going to have to grab her tomorrow and check her over.

Apart from Matilda that sounds like a really lovely afternoon.

First dig on the allotment patch. It needs double digging which is quite hard going. Double digging as in the depth of the spade twice.

Hmmm...🤔 What's the soil like overall, Shad? It looks ok on my computer. A bit clayey maybe...?
It's still a bit wet to tell. If it doesn't rain overnight and tomorrow which it shouldn't according to the weather people I'll be in a better position to tell. The worm load is good so that's promising. What it will grow what with the weather etc remains to be seen. It won't be like the veg garden in Catalonia, that much I'm pretty certain off.:D

I'll bet it's clay, I've lived in several parts of the uk and it's been clay . :)
